Charlie Kaufman’s upcoming FX pilot also cast Michael Cera and John Hawkes.
The pilot episode of the series titled How and Why, will be directed by Charlie Kaufman and center on a man who can explain how and why a nuclear reactor works, but doesn’t know a thing about life. As noted by The Wrap, the series mark Kaufman’s return to the small screen after previously working on shows like Ned and Stacey and The Dana Carvey Show.
It isn’t clear what roles they will play, but it is known that Catherine Keener will be a series regular, while Sally Hawkins (who recently received an Oscar nomination for Blue Jasmine) will be a guest star. The series previously cast John Hawkes (Winter’s Bone) who will play the role of a TV host who lost his way and Michael Cera who will portray his boss.
Kaufman will direct and write the pilot episode and he will also serve as executive producer alongside Anthony Bregman (Synecdoche, New York).
