The FX original comedy series Dave is preparing for the premiere of its second installment, set for Wednesday, June 16 at 10 PM EST, according to Deadline. The June 16 premiere date will act as a two-episode season premiere before allowing the series to continue its second season in weekly releases. Dave premiered on March 4, 2020, right before the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, and was able to release its ten-episode first season in its entirety. Following the season’s conclusion, FX had announced that the show had received a renewal for a second season. The series is created by the likes of Jeff Schaffer (The League, Seinfeld) and rapper David Burd (Professional Rapper).
Dave centers on the semi-autobiographical tale of Dave, otherwise known as rapper Lil Dicky, begin to grow his brand as a white young male entering the hip hop industry. Burd portrays himself as Lil Dicky and is accompanied by comedian Andrew Santino (Punk’d, The Office), Odd Future member Travis Bennett, Christine Ko (The Great Indoors), GaTa, and Taylor Misiak (American Vandal) for the series’ cast. The series has also witnessed a long list of celebrity guest stars that includes YG, Benny Blanco, Justin Bieber, and many more.
It has also been revealed that the second season of Dave will include guest stars that include Los Angeles Lakers legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, musician Lil Nas X, comedian Kevin Hart (Get Hard), current Lakers player Kyle Kuzma, Kendall Jenner, rapper Lil Yachty, musician Doja Cat, the rap duo Rae Sremmurd, Blanco, and many more.
