FX Renewed A Second Season For The Series ‘Adults’

According to Deadline, the streamer Hulu just renewed the FX comedy, Adults, for a second season. Ben Kronengold (The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon) and Rebecca Shaw (The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon) co-created the seriesThe cast announced the renewal on a reel posted on YouTube.

According to Deadline, this hilarious show follows a group of young adults in their 20s living in New York City. Malik Elassal (Joe Pickett, Fortunate Son), Lucy Freyer (The Justice, The Wanderers), Jack Innanen (The Office Movers, The Dessert), Amita Rao (Deli Boys, Sick Day), and finally Owen Thiele (Too Much, Adult Best Friends) portray five young adult friends sharing everything from food to issues in one house.

According to Deadline, the first season’s eight episodes boasted an amazing list of guest stars, such as Charlie Cox (Echo, Daredevil: Born Again), Rachel Marsh (The Morning Show, You Buddy), D’Arcy Carden (Loot, Nobody Wants This), Ray Nicholson (Borderline, I Love You Forever), John Reynolds (Oh, Hi, Ghosts), Will Ropp (Really Well, Little Sky), Grace Kuhlenschmidt (Public Park, The Daily Show), Julia Fox (Elsbeth, The Deputy), Tala Ashe (The Girls On The Bus, Before You), and also Lilah Guaragna (Party People, Pinball Queen).

The EVP for FX Entertainment, Kate Lambert, told Deadline, “Ben and Rebecca are incredibly talented writers, and they have expertly and hilariously captured the experience of being a young adult in today’s world. The entire cast — Malik, Lucy, Jack, Amita and Owen — is exceptional in bringing it to life in a way that has truly connected with its audience.”

Deadline lists Kronengold and Shaw as executive producers, along with Nick Kroll (Sausage Party, The League), Rob Rosell (New Girl, Chad), Sarah Naftalis (What We Do in the Shadows, They Came Together), and Jonathan Krisel (Portlandia, Baskets)FX Productions is the studio.
