The upcoming comic book adaptation series, Y: The Last Man, has received and released its first images in an FX promotional trailer, according to Screen Rant. The FX series, which will be aired on FX on Hulu instead of the cable network itself, is preparing for a 2021 premiere and hails from showrunner Eliza Clark (Rubicon) and is adapted from the comic book series under the same name. The comic book series was created by the likes of Pia Guerra and Brian K. Vaughan, the latter serving as an executive producer for the show. Although the show is preparing to air its first season, it is unknown how many episodes the season will consist of.
Y: The Last Man centers on the same story world as the comics by following Yorick Brown in the post-apocalyptic setting he finds himself in. The world suffered this apocalyptic moment due to any individual containing a Y chromosome being suddenly wiped off the face of the Earth, leaving Yorick and his pet monkey to fend for themselves. The series cast will feature Ben Schnetzer (Happy Town) as Yorick in addition to the likes of Olivia Thirlby (Juno), Diana Bang (The Interview), Marin Ireland (The Umbrella Academy, Sneaky Pete), Paul Gross (Due South), Elliot Fletcher (Shameless, The Fosters), Amber Tamblyn (House, 127 Hours), and Diane Lane (The Outsiders, Unfaithful).
