According to IndieWire, FX ordered 13 episode for the vampire series.
Over a year ago, FX announced that Guillermo del Toro is working with Carlton Cuse for the series called The Strain that focuses on the outbreak of a vampire virus.
The series are actually based on a trilogy of books written by Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan. The network has ordered 13 episodes for the show which will air in July 2014.
“‘The Strain’ books are near and dear to my heart and now, Chuck and I have the blessing of a partnership with Carlton and FX that holds great promise,” said del Toro, adding, “Working with FX has yielded an amazing experience with total creative freedom and support.”
Guillermo del Toro will be the director of the vampire series, which star actors like Corey Stoll, Kevin Durand, Sean Astin and Mia Maestro.
