Cristin Milioti (The Penguin, Palm Springs) has joined FX’s drama pilot Seven Sisters, set to star alongside Elizabeth Olsen (Wanda Vision, Wind River). According to Deadline, the series centers on a tight-knit family whose deep-seated secrets resurface when one sister (Olsen) begins hearing a voice that no one else can. As the mystery unfolds, the family is forced to confront the truths they’ve long buried. Speculation is that Milioti will be playing Olsen’s sister.
The series has brought on a reputable crew. Will Arbery, script writer for the pilot, (Heroes of the Fourth Turning, Plano) serves as executive producer alongside Sean Durkin (The Iron Claw, The Nest), who also took on the role of director, and Garrett Basch (Life Itself, Next Goal Wins). Via Deadline, if the pilot gets picked up, it would be the fifth FX series from Basch, whose production company, Dive, has a longstanding first-look deal with the network. His previous projects include Devs, Reservation Dogs and What We Do in the Shadows.
Cristin Milioti has built a career in both TV and film. According to Deadline, she most recently appeared alongside Colin Farrell (The Banshees of Inisherin, The Gentlemen) in The Penguin, an HBO miniseries spinoff from The Batman, which was directed by Matt Reeves (Cloverfield, War for the Planet of the Apes). She will also return to Black Mirror in Season 7, reprising her role as Nanette Cole in a sequel to the Season 4 episode “USS Callister,” with Jimmi Simpson (Dark Matter, Unhinged) and Billy Magnussen (Road House, Game Night).
Milioti’s TV credits include roles in The Resort on Peacock, Made for Love on Max, and Fargo on FX. She also appeared in How I Met Your Mother and Modern Love on Amazon. In film, she starred in Palm Springs, directed by Max Barbakow (Palm Springs, Brothers), and in Martin Scorsese’s (Goodfellas, Killers of the Flower Moon) The Wolf of Wall Street.
