A new comedy series is coming to the television scene as FX has greenlit Snowflakes, a project from young comedy writers Rebecca Shaw (Wax Paul Now, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon) and Ben Kronengold (The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon), according to Deadline. The two writing partners are among some of the youngest creators the network has greenlit a pilot from, with the two graduating from Yale in 2018 and breaking into the industry while working for The Tonight Show since 2019.
Shaw and Kronengold are teaming up with other comedy champions in order to bring Snowflakes to life. While Shaw and Kronengold are executive producing the new series, they are joined by Nick Kroll (The League, Big Mouth), Stefani Robinson (What We Do in the Shadows, Atlanta) and Jonathan Krisel (Baskets, Portlandia). Krisel filmed the series’ pilot via Deadline.
As for what to expect from Snowflakes, Deadline reported that the series is “a twenty-something ensemble comedy following a group of codependent housemates — — Billie (Lucy Freyer), Samir (Malik Elassal), Anton (Owen Thiele), Issa (Amita Rao) and Paul Baker (Jack Innanen) — trying to be good people, despite being neither ‘good’ nor ‘people’ yet.”
FX’s President of Entertainment, Nick Grad (The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story, Fargo), shared, “We are excited about the exceptional cast and powerhouse comedy team we’ve assembled for Snowflakes. Not only does it give us a chance to introduce our audience to Ben Kronengold and Rebecca Shaw’s brilliant comedic voice, but we also get the opportunity to work again with Nick, Jonathan and Stefani, all incredibly talented veterans of signature FX comedies,” via Deadline.
As for what Shaw and Kronengold had to say on their newest endeavor, they commented, “We’re so grateful to be telling this story about a group of friends navigating the hardest, horniest time of life together. FX comedies have defined our generation, and we can’t wait to show them the consequences,” as per Deadline.
According to Deadline, the half-hour comedy series Snowflakes is scheduled to premiere in 2025.
