After several short teasers that have built suspension for its upcoming release, a full length Jessica Jones trailer was released today.
The trailer, which can be seen below, gives a good look at what to expect from the latest Marvel/Netflix collaboration. This is the second Marvel show for Netflix, after the successful Daredevil series.
While Daredevil was dark in its own right, Jessica Jones promises to amp that. The trailer shows plenty of Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones as well as Mike Colter’s Luke Cage. The most menacing aspect of the trailer is the introduction to David Tennant’s Kilgrave.
Jones, who is a retired hero now working as a private investigator to pay for booze, has past experience with Kilgrave. Kilgrave is able to make people do what he wants through mind control. This is shown in the trailer several times and it is made clear that Jones has had a very bad experience with Kilgrave’s mind control.
Also on display in the trailer, are the abilities that Jones has. She is seen stopping a car, jumping incredible heights, and throwing grown men through things.
The trailer plays up the psychological thriller aspect of the show. With several shots of a clearly distressed Jones being haunted by Kilgrave – the show will surely attract fans of darker superhero material.
The full season will be released on Netflix on November 20. Coming to Netflix after that will be a show dedicated to Luke Cage as well as the second season of Daredevil sometime in 2016.
