One of TV’s most iconic couples reunited yesterday with a TikTok video. According to Entertainment Weekly, Full House’s John Stamos (Grandfathered, Big Shot) and Lori Loughlin (Garage Sale Mysteries, Seinfeld) danced on the app and appeared in good spirits. In the video, Stamos starts a two-step dance to Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers’ Islands in the Stream while Loughlin follows behind him, to his surprise.
The video has garnered 1.9 million likes with 16.5 million views.
In 1987, Stamos starred as Jesse Katsopolis, aka Uncle Jesse, for eight seasons during Full House. Loughlin was later cast as his love interest, portraying Rebecca Donaldson, aka Aunt Becky, during season two. The two got married in season four.
Fast forward to 2016, the two returned to reprise their roles on Fuller House on Netflix. This ultimately was short-lived for Loughlin, as she was let go for season five following the college admissions scandal in 2019.
“She wasn’t really the architect of any of it. She was in the way background. She didn’t know what was going on,” said Stamos on Loughlin’s role in the scandal during an interview last November.
Stamos is promoting his new memoir entitled If You Would Have Told Me, and it was revealed last month, before its release, that he even considered dating Loughlin in real life at one point.
He states theirs was the “sort of true friendship that’s supposed to be the foundation of a great, lasting relationship.”
Full House follows Danny Tanner and his family as they cope with the loss of their mother and wife. The San Francisco sportscaster moves in with his brother-in-law Jesse and his friend Joey to raise his three daughters, D.J., Stephanie, and Michelle. All five become roommates, and the series highlights daily life occurrences.
The series stars Bob Saget (America’s Funniest Home Videos, How I Met Your Mother) as Danny Tanner, Dave Coulier (The Thirteenth Year, America’s Funniest People) as Joey Gladstone, Candace Cameron Bure (Aurora Teagarden, No One Would Tell) as D.J. Tanner, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen (It Takes Two, Passport to Paris) as Michelle Tanner and Jodie Sweetin (Merry & Bright, Hollywood Darlings) as Stephanie Tanner.
