

The violent world of Prime Video’s The Boys series continues to expand with the highly anticipated prequel, Vought Rising, surely to continue the same level of action that the franchise is known for. Stated by Screenrant, the current plot of the upcoming series will focus on the past exploits of Soldier Boy, played by Jensen Ackles (Supernatural, The Winchesters) and Stormfront, played by Aya Cash (The Franchise, Easy). Additionally, the series shifts its tone as it moves into the 1950s, pivoting from an action-heavy style to a murder mystery.
Reported by Screenrant, at this year’s comic-con at Emerald City reveals a new character, Mother Milk, who will be played by Laz Alonso (Avatar, Fast & Furious). Alonso goes on to speak about his thought on the franchise’s future ,”The clothes, and the music, and the politics. Jokes and the humor are all gonna be from back then, so just expect it to be pretty raw, and that means a lot coming from a show like ours.”
Due to the dark humor, Prime Video’s anti-superhero series immediately became a big hit among streamers, with the fourth season having gathered over 55 million views from its premiere. According to Screenrant, some have stated that The Boys has outperformed other superhero franchises, which would include Marvel. The exciting fifth and final season of The Boys is scheduled to make its grand premiere on April 8, with the fate of all New York left in the battle between Homelander, played by Antony Starr (Cobweb, Banshee), and Butcher, played by Karl Urban (Star Trek, Doom).
Vought Rising can expect to have the same signature bite while also elevating the series lore to a cinematic level. While viewers await further news on the prequel’s release date, all current seasons of The Boys, as well as Gen V, are available to stream on Prime Video.
