From Hollywood Satire To Supehero Wager:’ Wonder Man’ Stars And Creator Offer Up Their Hopes For A Second Season

With the finale of Marvel’s recent miniseries, Wonder Man having ended back on January 27, the series cast and creator give their own vision on what the second season will focus on. According to Entertainment Weekly, in the beginning of the series started out has being much comedic with Simon, played by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (Aquaman, Candyman), who is struggling actor and seek the aid of  by Trevor, played by Ben Kingsley (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Iron Man 3), but each episode slowly shift the atmosphere.

Reported by Entertainment Weekly, the finale of the series displayed Simon losing control of his power causing destruction, and instead of letting DODC capture him, Trevor took the blame and was sent to jail. Simon then started training and tailing one of the guards of the prison disguised in landing a new role, but in actuality was planing to break Trevor out. The episode ends with the duo successfully escaped and now are on the run.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Yahya, Trevor, and show’s creator, Andrew Guest (Community, Hawkeye) spoke about an alternative ending of the series, in which the duo escape via  by pulling off a performance in the prison theatre and than levitating off the floor and into the sky. Either way the show would have ended with the duo being the narcissists making a grand escape.

According to Entertainment Weekly,  if a second season is ever be production, then it could help solve the unanswered question on how Simon obtained his powers and whether or not they decided to make him a mutant. This also gives a chance of introducing characters that have a connection to him, with one example being his vengeful brother Eric aka the grim reaper.

The entire first season of Wonder Man is available to stream on Disney+.
