The end is near for Pretty Little Liars. Freeform has set the April premiere date for the show to air its last 10 episodes and Entertainment Weekly said that the show will premiere on Tuesday, April 18 at 8 p.m.
If the network airs each of the last 10 episodes weekly and doesn’t skip them for anything, it appears as if the series finale of the show will air on Tuesday, June 20. The series finale is a two-hour episode followed by a tell-all with the main cast (Troian Bellasario, Ashley Benson, Lucy Hale, Shay Mitchell and Sasha Pieterse) and showrunner I. Marlene King.
Not much is known about what the final 10 episodes of the show entail because the show is notorious for not revealing spoilers. However, familiar faces will be returning to Rosewood in the episodes, including Wren (Julian Morris) and Melissa (Torrey DeVitto). Charlotte (Vanessa Ray), who was revealed to be the real “A” who was causing problems for the little liars since the show’s inception, will also be appearing at some point in the final 10 episodes. She’ll be most likely appearing in flashback form, as her character died in the season six midseason premiere that aired in January.
April 18 also marks the series premiere of Famous in Love, a new show coming from King and starring Bella Thorne. The show, based off of a Rebecca Serle novel of the same name, focuses on Paige Townsen (Thorne), a college student who is thrust into the Hollywood spotlight after being cast in a blockbuster movie. She now has to navigate life as a starlet, which is something she’s never had to do before. Famous in Love will air in the 9 p.m. timeslot immediately after Pretty Little Liars.
Famous in Love marks King’s first show on the network outside of the Pretty Little Liars universe. She worked on the show’s spinoff, Ravenswood, which was canceled after one season due to low ratings. Before Ravenswood premiered, the cast would go to the fictitious town to promote the crossover. Since the show was canceled, nothing has been mentioned of the other town and fans seem content to pretend like the spinoff never happened.
Pretty Little Liars and Famous in Love premiere on Tuesday, April 18 on Freeform. Pretty Little Liars will air at 8 p.m. and Famous in Love will air at 9 p.m.
