Freeform has decided not to renew Beyond for third season. This decision comes a week after the season two finale. The series Beyond focused on Holden (played by Burkeley Duffield). The character was in a coma for twelve years and once he wakes up he has new abilities. These abilities of his puts him in the middle of a dangerous conspiracy. Holden had to: find out what happened while he was in a coma, survive in a completely different world, and figure out why this happened to him.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, during the first season of the show there were more than fourteen million people that watched it in the first week. Freeform said that it created the best week across digital platform. Kring’s Imperative Entertainment had ranked it as the network’s biggest launch. The first season consisted of ten episodes. However, the ratings for the second season of the show dropped by about fifty percent.
The series was written, created, executive produced by Adam Nussdorf (Once Upon a Time in Wonderland), Tim Kring (Heroes), and David Eick (Battlestar Galactica). Also serving as executive producers to the show were: Steven Adelson, Zak Kadison, Justin Levy, and Brian Kavaugh-Jones. Along with Duffield the show also featured: Romy Rosemont, Michael McGrady, Jonathan Whitesell, Dilan Gwyn, and Jeff Pierre.
