Apple TV+ has released a second trailer for the second upcoming season of the show Foundation. The recently released trailer offers a glimpse of an upcoming conflict between the Cleons and the Foundation, while Seldon’s devoted followers navigate through their second major challenge, according to ScreenRant.
According to Apple TV, Foundation is based on the award-winning novels by Isaac Asimov (Nightfall, I, Robot) and chronicles a band of exiles on their monumental journey to save humanity and rebuild civilization amid the fall of the Galactic Empire.
Foundation is described as, according to ComicBook, “When revolutionary Dr. Hari Seldon predicts the impending fall of the Empire, he and a band of loyal followers venture to the far reaches of the galaxy to establish The Foundation in an attempt to rebuild and preserve the future of civilization. Enraged by Hari’s claims, the ruling Cleons — a long line of emperor clones — fear their unrivaled reign may be weakening as they’re forced to reckon with the potential reality of losing their powerful legacy forever.”
According to TV Insider, the second season of Foundation will see Lou Llobell (Voyagers, The Pilgrim) portraying Gaal Dornick, Jared Harris (Chernobyl, The Terror) portraying Hari Seldon, and Leah Harvey (National Theatre Live: Small Island, Fighting with My Family) portraying Salvor Hardin. As the trio embarks on their journey, they stumble upon a colony of individuals known as Mentalics, possessing powerful psionic abilities capable of reshaping psychohistory. Simultaneously, a vindictive queen conspires to dismantle the Empire from within.
