After Jimmy Kimmel (Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Boss Baby) joked about Jeffrey Epstein, Donald Trump went after the late-night host again, demanding the termination of his position at ABC. According to Deadline, Kimmel said, “We are now one step closer to answering the question: What did the president know, and how old were these women when he knew it?”
Deadline reports that Truth Social posted that Trump wrote, “Why does ABC Fake News keep Jimmy Kimmel, a man with NO TALENT and VERY POOR TELEVISION RATINGS, on the air? Why do the TV Syndicates put up with it? Also, totally biased coverage. Get the bum off the air!!!”
Deadline shared that on Wednesday’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the main topic in his monologue was about the pending release of the Epstein files. Initially opposing the bill to mandate the Justice Department’s release, Trump reversed his stance and signed it into law on Wednesday once its passage was certain.
Adding fuel to the fire, Kimmel commented on Republican loyalty to Trump. “They don’t know what is in those files. They are talking his word for it,” Deadline reported. “They are taking the word of someone who paid a porn star $130,000 and claims he didn’t do anything with her.”
mxdwn stated that ABC temporarily pulled Kimmel’s show in September, hours after the FCC chairman, Brendan Carr, issued a warning regarding the host’s jokes about the MAGA reaction to Charlie Kirk’s assassination. Following a backlash that included the cancellation of Disney+ accounts, Kimmel was reinstated by ABC.
After the incident involving a Bloomberg reporter on Friday, Trump told her, “Quiet, piggy,” in response to a question regarding why he doesn’t order the release of the files, as reported by Deadline.
During an Oval Office meeting with the Saudi crown prince on Tuesday, Deadline says Trump berated ABC correspondent Mary Bruce, particularly after she questioned him about Jeffrey Epstein. Trump attacked the network’s credibility, stating, “I think the license should be taken away from ABC because your news is so fake and it’s so wrong, and we have a great commissioner, the chairman, who should look at that,” in a clear reference to Carr. Trump also dismissed the Epstein matter as a “Democrat hoax” intended to distract voters.
mxdwn reported that two prominent critics of President Trump, Stephen Colbert and fellow comedian Jon Stewart, recently spoke frankly about their dissatisfaction with Paramount’s decision to settle a lawsuit with the President over the editing of a 60 Minutes interview with Kamala Harris. The AP further revealed that the settlement caused an internal crisis, with two senior executives allegedly quitting or being forced out after they privately voiced their disapproval of the deal before it was official.
In another article on mxdwn.com, Trump continued to show his disdain when tweeting about late-night host Seth Meyers on X, “He has no Ratings, Talent, or Intelligence, and the Personality of an insecure child. So, why would Fake News NBC extend this dope’s contract.” Trump’s online presence threatens talk show hosts’ positions in television, but fans will stop at nothing to preserve them.
