Viewers are getting their first look at Lily James (Mama Mia: Here We Go Again) and Sebastian Stan (The Falcon and the Winter Soldier) in Hulu’s upcoming limited series, Pam & Tommy. The series, which stars Seth Rogan in addition to James and Stan, is set to tell the story of the premiere of Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee’s infamous sex tape, via Deadline.
Pam & Tommy, according to Deadline, is set to be an eight-part limited series following the pair’s relationship and the lead up to the release of their sex tape, which became one of the first viral videos in history. Rogan is attached to play the man who stole the infamous tape, with photo of him in costume being released on the series’ official Instagram page.
The legal fall-out from the release of the tape is also expected to be discussed in the series. After the VHS tape was stolen and distributed online by Internet Entertainment Group, the couple signed a confidential settlement deal. According to Deadline, after the deal was signed, the Internet Entertainment Group released the tape on their website for subscribers. The series will additionally include how the pair met and married in 1995 after only knowing one another for 96 hours.
The first photo shows Stan and James in costume, with James being almost unrecognizable. According to Deadline, Taylor Schilling (Orange Is the New Black), Pepi Sonuga (Famous in Love), Spencer Granese (Better Call Saul), Andrew Dice Clay (A Star Is Born), and Mozhan Marnò (House of Cards) have been cast in the limited series.
Pam & Tommy will be written and executive produced by Rob Siegel (writer, The Founder) and DV DeVincentis (writer, American Crime Story). Via Deadline, the series will be directed by Craig Gillespie (director, I, Tonya). The series will reunite Gillespie and Stan, who worked together previously when Stan starred as Tonya Harding’s ex-husband, Jeff, in I, Tonya.
