Since first premiering in 2006, Dexter has drawn huge audiences and fanbases worldwide since its debut on Showtime. Throughout the last decade, the series has seen longtime actor alum Michael C. Hall reprise his role as Dexter Morgan the serial killer, and will once again star as the popular character in Dexter: Resurrection. To enhance the excitement for Dexter fans, Paramount+ with Showtime has released some first look photos into the upcoming continuation of the show, introducing a star studded cast with famous faces such as Peter Dinklage (Game of Thrones, The Angriest Man in Brooklyn), Uma Thurman (The War with Grandpa, Pulp Fiction) amid other returning alums such as James Remar (The Noel Diary, Duplex) as Dexter’s father and David Zayas (Tallulah, Power Book II: Ghost) as Detective Angel Bautista. Via TVLine, Peter Dinklage will join the cast as billionaire capitalist Leon Prater, who is rumored to be Dexter’s nemesis for this season. In the article, the character description reads, “To the world, Leon is a generous philanthropist, but behind his polished exterior lies dark intrigue.” Along with Peter Dinklage, Uma Thurman will be cast as character Charley, who is set to play the role of a former special ops officer and Prater’s head of security. Since the prequel series Original Sin wrapped up in February of this year, it was revealed that Dexter had survived the New Blood shooting in which viewers thought he had been killed. However, the prequel’s premiere then showed Dexter being loaded onto a gurney, with his life flashing before his eyes. Hall narrated the scene, showing flashbacks of his days in medical school and an internship at the Miami Metro Police Department.
With an exact date yet to be determined for Dexter: Resurrection, the series premiere will make its comeback to Paramount+ before the end of 2025. Previous seasons of Dexter are available to stream on several different platforms, including Netflix, Paramount+ with Showtime, AppleTV, and FuboTV.
