First Look At ‘The Walking Dead’ Season Six

AMC has released the first look images from the sixth season of its hit show The Walking Dead.

Fans of the series will have to wait a few more days for the trailer release though. AMC will unveil the first trailer for the new season at Comic-Con on July 10. Until then, the three images released today provide the first look at what the season may contain.

The photos, curtesy of Entertainment Weeklyshow three characters on their own: Daryl, Maggie, and Glenn. All of the character photos feature them with their weapons, hinting at violent encounters for these three.

Norman Reedus’ Daryl, shown below, has his signature crossbow with him. However, with it not pointed at anything it’s hard to say if there is immediate danger or if it’s a mere precaution. The background is also left unsure: he may be within the group’s new community Alexandria or he could be outside of the walls.

Lauren Cohan’s Maggie, shown below, does have her weapon drawn. The house in the background seems to suggest that she is within Alexandria. The potential threats could be anything from a walker within the walls or a suddenly suspicious not dead member of the community.

Steven Yeun’s Glenn, shown below, also has his weapon drawn. The only clue in his background photo is another character lingering out of sight. Glenn has a few cuts on his face which either came from his last season fight or indicate that a new struggle took place. It is left unclear as to whether or not these photos are taking place at the same time in the same place or if they are three different instances.

For The Walking Dead Comic-Con event, where the season six trailer will premiere, stars Andrew Lincoln, Norman Reedus, Steven Yeun, Lauren Cohan, Danai Gurira, Melissa McBride, Chandler Riggs, Michael Cudlitz, Lennie James and Sonequa Martin-Green will be present. Also there will be The Walking Dead executive producer and showrunner Scott M. Gimple and executive producers Gale Anne Hurd, Robert Kirkman, Greg Nicotero and David Alpert. Chris Hardwick, Talking Dead host, will moderate the panel, according to Deadline

In other season six news, Corey Hawkins has joined the show as Heath, a key comic book character. Read more about his casting here. Season five left off with Morgan (Lennie James) reaching Alexandria, where Rick and the gang were staying. Judging by the promo image below, Morgan will be an important player in season six.

Season six will premiere on AMC in October.
