Deadline reports that the first episode of Ahsoka received 14 millions views on Disney+, which made it the number one series worldwide on the streaming platform. According to Disney, it is the most watched series on Disney+ over last week, reports Deadline.
Disney defines a view as a total stream divided by the available runtime.
“Ahsoka has become a fan favorite with people of all ages and it’s wonderful to see her continue to resonate with viewers in her very own headlining series,” said Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy (Obi-Wan Kenobi, The Book of Boba Fett) in a statement, according to Deadline. “I want to recognize the fantastic work done by our creative team, led by Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau, the incredible cast led by Rosario Dawson, and our talented crew — and on behalf of the team and all of Lucasfilm, we give our thanks to all the fans who have been with Ahsoka on every step of her journey and to all those who are just learning about her now in Ahsoka on Disney+.”
The first two episodes of Ahsoka was released on Disney+ of Tuesday, August 22. The series is created by Dave Filoni (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars: The Force Awakens). The cast includes Rosario Dawson (The Mandalorian, Daredevil) as Ahsoka Tano, Ray Stevenson (Thor, Punisher: War Zone) as Baylan Skoll, Natasha Liu Bordizzo (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny, The Greatest Showman) as Sabine Wren, and Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, Harley Quinn: Birds of Prey) as Hera Syndulla.
It also features Hayden Christensen (Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith, Obi-Wan Kenobi) as Anakin Skywalker, Ivanna Sakho (The Spy Who Dumped Me, Pacific Rim Uprising) as Shin Hati, Eman Esfandi (Red 11, The Inspection) as Ezra Bridger, and David Tennant (Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, How to Train Your Dragon) as Huyang.
