The final part of the Fear the Walking Dead: Flight 462 miniseries left us completely in the dark as far as not giving any sort of indication of who survived the crash landing. But now, it is confirmed that the sole survivor returning will be Charlie aka Michelle Ang’s character.
AMC recently released a sneak peek of the upcoming season of Fear the Walking Dead where we see a horde of vicious walkers approaching Charlie (Ang) and several other members of Travis’s (Cliff Curtis) group including Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey), Christopher (Lorenzo James Henrie), and Daniel (Ruben Blades).
Watch the teaser below:
There you have it, Ang’s character will live on in Fear the Walking Dead, at least temporarily but hopefully longer. You can barely see Ang’s character in the clip but if you pause it at 0:04 you can see that it is indeed her, especially since she’s wearing the same outfit from the Flight 462 16-part series. For those who don’t remember who Charlie was in Flight 462, watch part 16 here. She’s the one with the dark hair and green jacket.
Even though it is now official that Ang, the 32 year-old New Zealand actress will be in the second season of Fear the Walking Dead, there’s no guarantee that she will be playing a major role on the show. In fact, last October during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, showrunner Dave Erickson said “We’ll see at least one character from ‘Flight 462’ who makes an appearance. As to how involved that narrative thread becomes, that remains to be seen,”
It would be nice to see Ang’s character around for a while in the upcoming season of Fear the Walking Dead especially since she clearly was the only one who knew what she was doing in Flight 462. She may play a pivotal role in helping Travis’s group combat the walkers.
In addition to Ang, other new cast members joining the second season of Fear the Walking Dead are Dougray Scott (Desperate Housewives), Arturo Del Puerto (Ride Along 2), Daniel Zovatto (It Follows), and Veronica Diaz (Taco Shop).
Fear the Walking Dead’s sophomore run of the series will air on Sunday, April 10 at 9 p.m. on AMC.
