HBO’s True Detective just got a little racier.
Fast & Furious director, Justin Lin, is reported to be in negotiations for a two-episode directing stint for season two of the acclaimed neo-noir series. Lin is an accomplished director with a successful film franchise to his name and a few other projects in the works, including a CBS pilot entitled Scorpion. His involvement fills in the void left by season one’s lone director, Cary Fukunaga.
The True Detective rumor mill has been running overtime lately. Casting gossip has been rich, with Colin Farrell, Vince Vaughn, Elisabeth Moss, and Taylor Kitsch rumored to be at least “close” to a deal with HBO. Justin Lin’s is the first named director, but with only two episodes out of eight slotted for Lin to direct, we can expect a few other directing names to hit the mill in the months before shooting.
