Holly was supposed to be holding her two sons in this scene, Fischer says, via TVLine. The real reason why the scene was never filmed is that Ryan’s schedule wasn’t allowing her to make an appearance in the finale, so the scene was officially scrapped. However, Steve Carell (Despicable Me, Crazy, Stupid, Love) was able to appear in the finale for the first time since he left the show in season seven. Michael Scott surprised Dwight and Angela by appearing at their wedding. The scene was quoted: “Michael, I can’t believe you came,” Dwight said through tears, as Michael replied his iconic one-liner, “That’s what she said.”
During the Office series finale, according to TVLine, Michael explained excitedly to Pam how he had a family with Holly now, after he felt like he was unlucky in love for years. Pam explained to viewers that Michael has photos of his kids, maybe too many…so he had to use two different phones, with two bills by stating, “He’s just so happy to have a family plan.”
