Excited to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the hit sitcom Family Guy, Comic book reports Peter Griffin made surprise appearance on the YouTube talk show Hot Ones. The TV show Hot Ones is focused on a variety of celebrities, which host Sean Evans (A Family Affair and Beyond The Loop) interviews over a platter of increasingly spicy chicken wings. The free show streams on YouTube on the First We Feast channel and is partnered with Complex Media. The show has become highly anticipated as each drop sees which celebrity guests take on the weekly challenge.
In the past, they have had other animated characters besides Family Guy’s Peter Griffin appear on the show, such as characters from Puss and Boots and Legos.
Family Guy is preparing to celebrate its 22 seasons during its 25th anniversary. They have time to prepare for the next season, which will not air until 2025. This episode with Peter Griffin is monumental; he gets his version of sauces on the show, which is not usual.
According to Comicbook, Peter is the first person in the show’s history to experience complete intestinal distress. All the other guests’ insides may have been on fire, but not as bad as his; they had to stop eating the wings. It just got messy towards the end of the show.
After so many seasons of Family Guy, it may become hard for some to keep the creative juices flowing. The show has always aired on Fox. Peter touched on some of the new episodes during his Hot Ones interview.
Family Guy is set to have a Halloween special now streaming on Hulu, according to an article in Comicbook. You may even see special appearances from Glen Powell (Twisters, Hit Man). He will be a rival to Joe Swanson in the event of the annual pumpkin-growing contest.
Family Guy won’t be stopping at just one special; they are also set to release another Christmas-themed special later on with Hulu. Peter gave out quite a few spoilers; typically, the specials do well for the series.
While these specials may be airing on Hulu, the program Family Guy will remain on Fox, via Comicbook. The series will return in 2025. Family Guy may also return on a different day and time depending on the upcoming news about Fox planning to change all their animated shows to a different block. The show originally aired on Sundays, with shows like The Simpsons and Bob’s Burgers.
No matter the show’s time or day, its longtime fans, who range over many generations, will still celebrate the anniversary. This anniversary is quite unusual, seeing that the show was canceled for a few years, which is why it’s the 25th anniversary but only the 23rd season. Getting a guest spot on Hot Ones is a huge deal, and it just goes to show how big of a deal Peter’s legacy also shines to the younger audience. Despite the brief hiatus, Family Guy isn’t going anywhere soon.
