Korean actress Park Eun-bin, best known as her role as Attorney Woo in Extraordinary Attorney Woo, is set to play a wannabe singer who becomes stuck for fifteen years on a deserted island. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Park Eun-bin is teaming up with Netflix again, just like when she worked with the streamer for the hit drama Extraordinary Attorney Woo that spent 21 weeks on the Global Non-English Top 10 list for Netflix last year.
The actress is set to yet again be the lead actress on the drama and the show is set to premiere in the later half of 2023. In Castaway Diva, a working title, Park Eun-bin will be playing the character by the name Seo Mok-ha who wants to become a successful singer. However, she becomes stranded for 15 years on a deserted island, to which she then grows to become a diva.
The series will also include other well known popular Korean actors on the cast such as Kim Joo-hun (It’s Okay to Not Be Okay), Chae Jong-hyeop (Sisyphus: The Myth), Cha Hak-yeon (Bad and Crazy), and Kim Hyo-jin (In My End Is My Beginning). Kim Hyo-jin will play a singer who used to be popular named Yoon Ran-ju and she will be Seo Mok-ha’s idol. Her character is looking for a new fresh start after coming across her fan on the island. Chae Jong-hyeop will be playing the character of Kang Bo-geol who is a variety show director and producer who is on the shy and introverted side.
The drama Castaway Diva is directed by Hotel Del Luna and Big Mouse‘s director Oh Chung-hwan and the writer for the show is none other than Park Hye-ryun who also worked on other dramas like Start-Up and While You Were Sleeping. This upcoming drama marks the third time these two have collaborated together.
