EverWonder Studios, the company that produced Netflix’s Under Pressure and Countdown: Inspiration4 Mission To Space, is collaborating with Empress Films to produce a three-part series about the life of Princess Diana. According to Deadline, this company produced Netflix’s The Disappearance Of Madeline McCann and BBC’s Louis Theroux: Miami Mega Jail.
According to Deadline, the documentary is named Who Killed Diana? This series will detail the final moments before her tragic death on August 31, 1997, showcase never-before-seen interviews with primary sources associated with the untimely car crash that killed the Princess of Wales and new information that the general public knows little about regarding Princess Diana’s passing.
The docuseries will be produced by Empress Film’s Emma Cooper (The Mystery of Marilyn Monroe: The Unheard Tapes, A Place For Paedophiles). Cooper came out in an interview with Deadline, exclaiming how excited she was to partake in a project about the life of Princess Diana.
“Exploring legendary women through investigative journalistic documentaries is a passion of mine. Just as we did with The Mystery of Marilyn Monroe, we’ve taken a story the world thought it knew and uncovered hidden truths. I am committed to approaching this beloved and iconic woman’s story with fresh perspectives, new voices, and previously untold information. I couldn’t have asked for better partners than Ian, Jon, and the entire Everworder team, who have become true collaborators,” Cooper said, according to Deadline.
Jon Adler (Stanley Tucci: Searching For Italy), the Head of Talent and Content Development at EverWonder Studios, hopes EverWonder will continue to collaborate with Empress Films on future documentaries about the deaths of historical icons to unveil new information regarding their unfortunate passings.
“Emma and Empress Films set a high bar for covering perplexing events through unprecedented access and premium storytelling. We both believe approach and access are everything. This new franchise will not merely revisit deaths of famous figures, it will actively drive the story forward with new voices and fresh insight into compelling and complex details,” said Alder.
