It’s always nice to see familiar faces.
Evan Peters and Sarah Paulson have been a staple on American Horror Story since its inception in 2011. They have been in every iteration of the anthology series, from Murder House to Roanoke. It’s a trademark of the show to continue to feature regular actors like Paulson and Peters in different characters for each new season’s story changes. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Ryan Murphy confirmed that the two actors will be returning for the seventh season of American Horror Story.
Interestingly enough, Paulson and Peters went through a different dynamic for the sixth season. American Horror Story: Roanoke was the first to feature the two as a romantic pair. During the season, Paulson and Peters’ characters met on set and fell in love, marking a first time they’ve ever encountered each other romantically.
Details about their upcoming relationship in the seventh season are still spoken of only in whispers, as is Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk’s way. Although the theme of the season has yet to be announced, Murphy did tell reporters at the Television Critics Association that the season is a “modern-day story” and that it has a unique structure to it.
FX’s CEO John Landraf spoke about the series on Thursday: “Each new chapter is a cultural event, beloved for every new twist in imagery, style, cast and plot. We are thrilled that Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and the entire creative team will continue to deliver the groundbreaking, celebrated American Horror Story for years to come.”
American Horror Story has been renewed through seasons eight and nine as well, but will we see Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters in those upcoming seasons as well? Only time will tell.
