FX’s limited series, The Beauty, due January 21, follows two FBI officers investigating sudden deaths via strange virus. According to Comicbook, one of those agents, played by Evan Peters (Monster, Tron: Ares), recently revealed in an interview an awkward blooper he had with a stuntman on set.
In an interview with Comicbook, Peters and costar Rebecca Hall (The Town, The Gift) discussed the rigorous training they did for action scenes in the show. One specific scene involved Peters fighting a naked, slippery opponent.
“A lot of practice, A lot of practice,” Peters said via Comicbook. “We did a lot of MMA training and then worked with Mark Fichera and Jason Mello, our stunts team. (They) developed this really long, intricate fight sequences.”
Peters continued to describe rehearsing for the longer scene, alluding to the embarrassing mistake.
“And, we got to rehearsal….Well, that specific moment was not very…we didn’t have much time with that one, and he’s very slippery…But it’s just working with those guys because they’re incredible and they know what they’re doing, and I just kept at it. Just kept practicing… with slippery me,” Peters told Comicbook.
Finally, Peters comes clean after Hall prompted how an intimacy coordinator had to have been involved with the scene.
“There was a little bit of a hand slip that went into a nether region, which was unfortunate for both of us, but we got through it,” Peters told Comicbook.
Based on the Image comic series created by Jeremy Haun (The Realm, The Approach) and Jason A. Hurley (The Beauty Vol 1 to 6, The Approach), The Beauty follows Peters and Hall’s FBI agents investigating the sudden deaths of many supermodels. They discover the deaths are caused by a sexually transmitted disease that transforms its victims into their ideal vision of beauty. The series stars Ashton Kutcher (Two and a Half Men, That 70s Show) as the leader of a shady corporation and Anthony Ramos (Hamilton, Twisters) as a mysterious assassin.
The comic book and series is created by Ryan Murphy (Monster, All’s Fair), The Beauty will air its first three episodes on FX and Hulu on January 21.
