Ethan Embry (Grace and Frankie, Sneaky Pete) and his wife Sunny Mabrey (In the Rough, Haint Blue) are the latest actors to announce their participation in the new CW series Gotham Knights. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the couple was cast in key recurring roles playing Gotham celebrities Arthur and Crystal Brown. Mabrey will make her first appearance on the show’s fifth episode as Crystal Brown while Embry will be debuting in episode six portraying Arthur Brown. In the DC comics, Arthur Brown is the alter ego of Cluemaster, one of Batman’s enemies.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Embry’s portrayal of Arthur Brown is described as meticulous and eccentric game show host who considers himself the most intelligent person in the room. Arthur is also very charming and perfectly coiffed and has high expectations for his daughter Stephanie, played by Anna Lore (They/Them, All American), the only one who comes close to matching his intellect. But a darker side can be found underneath the charm.
Crystal Brown is the wife of a local celebrity and presents herself as elegant and eye-catching. To those who spend time with her, Crystal runs warm as sunshine one moment, and brutally ice cold the next. All because she is battling a secret addiction that could ruin her family.
Gotham Knights follows the chaos that ensues in the wake of Bruce Wayne’s murder and the implications it brings for all of Gotham. In the aftermath, Bruce’s rebellious adopted son, Turner Hayes, played by Oscar Morgan (Millie Inbetween, Peaceful), will form an allegiance with the children of Batman’s enemies when they are all framed for the death of the Caped Vigilante. This renegade band of misfits becomes the city’s most wanted criminals and now must fight to clear their names. Without the Dark Knight, the city becomes a very dangerous place. However, hope can come from the most unimaginable of places as this team of mismatched fugitives will become its next generation of saviors.
The cast of the show also includes Olivia Rose Keegan (Days of Our Lives, High School Musical: The Musical: The Series) as Duela Dent; Navia Robinson (Raven’s Home, Free Rain) will play Carrie Kelley; Fallon Smythe (Most Likely to Murder, S.H.R.I.E.K.) as Harper Row; Tyler DiChiara (The Virgin of Highland Park, Relish) will be playing Cullen Row; Deja Dee (Panhandle, Gigi & Nate) will be starring as Commissioner Soto; Misha Collins (Supernatural, Encounter) will play villain Harvey Dent; Damon Dayoub (Monarch, NCIS) as Lincoln March; Lauren Stamile (Burn Notice, Grey’s Anatomy) will play Rebecca March, and Rahart Adam (Shadows, Foursome) will be portraying Brody March.
