The Ed Burns’ (Saving Private Ryan, The Brothers McMullen) series Bridge and Tunnel has been greenlit for development for Epix and has announced its cast, according to Deadline. The series will be a dramedy and will consist of six half-hour episodes. Bridge and Tunnel was written by Burns and will be directed in addition to being executive produced by him as well. The series will be executive produced by the likes of Lori Keith Douglas (Win Win, Limitless) and Aaron Lubin (Public Morals, Sidewalks of New York) on top of Burns. The series was originally titled Gibson Station and was first announced back in January 2020.
Bridge and Tunnel will center on the 1980s and a friend group that has recently graduated from college and is looking towards Manhattan and New York City to meet their goals and aspirations. The series cast was announced which includes the likes of Gigi Zumbado (Pitch Perfect 2, Criminal Minds) as Tammy, Isabella Farrell (The Good Fight) as Stacey, Brian Muller (The Good Wife, The Deuce) as Pags, JanLuis Castellanos (13 Reasons Why) as Mikey, Caitlin Stasey (Reign, APB) as Jill, and Sam Vartholomeos (Star Trek: Discovery) as Jimmy. Burns will also star in his own series as Artie.
Currently, there is no expected premiere date for the upcoming Epix series under Burns’ supervision. Additionally, the series has begun its production for its six-episodes in New York and in accordance to COVID-19 guidelines and protocols in the state.
