The 2026 Emmy Awards have officially begun. The 78th Emmy Awards ceremony, hosted by Mariska Hargitay, the event will begin tonight at 5 p.m. PT / 8 p.m. ET.
8 p.m.
Ladies and Gentlemen, the Emmys have officially begun with the host doing the opening number. The host Hargitay is doing a parody of the popular song I Love Rock And Roll. Jennifer Coolidge (Girl Group, A Minecraft Movie) handed Hargitay a booba and rode onto stage with a horse.
Hargitay is the first female host for the Emmys in fifteen years. Hargitay mentions that she is greatly moved to be given this honor to host the Emmys, storytelling goes far back to the stone age. Hargitay is parodying the Nicole Kidman AMC ad.
8:08 p.m.
The first presenter to make the stage is Amy Poehler, she is announcing Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy. Poehler is opening the award with some jokes about laughing at the winner of this award.
