It’s that time again, time for the biggest night in television where the biggest TV stars come together to celebrate the Emmy awards. After months of wondering, we will finally find out which shows, actors, and actresses will be walking away with the coveted awards.

Jimmy Kimmel will be hosting the 2016 Emmy awards on ABC, and here at mxdwn we will be keeping a live, running commentary on the winners.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus is this year’s Outstanding Comedy Actress! Can she run for president too? Did you know Louis-Dreyfus just broke the record for consecutive wins with now five Emmys?

Congrats to Jeffrey Tambor of Transparent for winning this year’s award for Outstanding Comedy Actor. This is his second consecutive win.

Best Writing for a Limited Series or TV Movie goes to… D.V. Devincentis for his work on The People vs. O.J. Simpson.

Suzanne Bier is this year’s Best Director for a Limited Series of TV Movie. Congratulations on a well deserved win! Can we also acknowledge how many women are dominating the directing categories?

This year’s Best Supporting Actor in a Limited Series of TV Movie is Sterling K. Brown. He looks stunned but we aren’t. He’s an amazing actor who absolutely earned that standing ovation.

Sarah Paulson is this year’s Best Actress in a Limited Series of Movie! She was flawless in The People vs. O.J. Simpson. Also shoutout to Paulson for bringing the real life Marcia Clark as her plus-one to the Emmy’s!

Sherlock: The Abominable Bride is this year’s Best TV Movie, proving we are all Sherlocked.

We’re not surprised, are you? The People vs. O.J. Simpson is the 2016 Best Limited Series. Congrats to Ryan Murphy and his crew for an amazing production and performance that kept us on the edges of our seats.

Yes, Patton Oswalt, you did just win Best Variety Writing. Somebody get that man a juice box!

Last but not least, this year’s Outstanding Drama Series is… Game of Thrones! This is the third win of the night! CONgratulations to the wonderful cast and crew that brought us one of the best seasons yet.
