Netflix recently released the trailer for the third season of Emily in Paris, via Deadline. The season two finale ended on a cliffhanger in which Emily (Lily Collins, To The Bone, Mirror Mirror) must decide between staying with her old boss, Madeline Wheeler (Kate Walsh, Grey’s Anatomy, The Umbrella Academy) at Gilbert Group or working for Sylvie Grateau (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, Two Brothers) at her new and upcoming company.
The second season of Emily in Paris was one of the most awaited Netflix continuations in 2021, and was renewed for a third season early this year.
The trailer for the upcoming third season confirms that Emily did not make a decision, but chose to work for both Sylvie and Madeline, until Sylvie finds out.
Emily’s challenges are not limited to her career, as they manifest in her love life as well. At the end of season two, Emily found herself in a romance with Alfie, a London banker played by Lucien Laviscount (Honeytrap). In the midst of pursuing Alfie, Emily is not quite over her feelings for Gabriel, the talented chef played by Lucas Bravo (Ticket to Paradise). To further complicate things, Gabriel had previously been involved with Camille Razat (played by herself), one of Emily’s close friends in Paris.
Via Netflix, the synopsis for season three reads “One year after moving from Chicago to Paris for her dream job, Emily finds herself at a crucial crossroads in every aspect of her life. Faced with two very different paths, Emily will have to decide exactly where her loyalties lie — at work and in her romantic life — and what those decisions mean for her future in France, all while continuing to immerse herself in the adventures and surprising twists and turns that life in Paris provides.”
The third season of Netflix’s Emily in Paris will air on December 21, 2022. Watch the trailer for season three below:
