With the premiere of Fuller House around the corner, cast members Jodie Sweetin (Stephanie Tanner), Andrea Barber (Kimmy Gibbler), and Candace Cameron Bure (D.J. Tanner-Fuller) went on The Ellen DeGeneres Show to promote the upcoming sequel to Full House.
Ellen DeGeneres kicked off the interview by asking Sweetin, Barber, and Bure how old each of them were when they first filmed Full House. Barber and Bure were 10 years old and Sweetin was only 5 during the pilot episode of the series.
Bure also talked about how her on-screen relationship with Sweetin and Barber is very similar to how close they are in reality. Bure went on to talk about an instance where they all drank too much during a Christmas party and Bure didn’t want Barber to drive which actually happened in Full House. During an episode of Full House, Barber’s character Kimmy became heavily intoxicated and D.J. (Bure) pleaded to Kimmy not to drive because a drunk driving accident was how the Tanner children lost their mother on Full House.
Ellen asked the cast about a possible second season for Fuller House but so far Netflix hasn’t confirmed a follow up season. However, given the amount of anticipation for Fuller House, it is very probably that the series will be approved for another season. Especially if the first season garners a lot of viewers from the original Full House fanatics and perhaps even a new generation of fans.
Then Ellen asked the question that so many people continue to ask “Do you think the Olsen twins will make a guest appearance?” Bure replied “I don’t know, the door is open if they want to.” Bure went on to say “we make reference to them on the show though, so they are not forgotten we talk about them.” Sweetin also jumped in and said “Yeah we definitely acknowledge Michelle (Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen) being present.”
The plot of Fuller House centers on D.J. Tanner-Fuller who is a recent widow and a mother of three. When things become overwhelming for D.J., her sister Stephanie and her best friend Kimmy decide to move in with her to help her raise her three boys.
