In an article with Deadline fans got yet another cast reveal for The Boys the prequel show Vought Rising. Elizabeth Posey (Euphoria) is set to star in the new series. However, her character has not been revealed. The Boys took fans by storm when the series came out in 2019. With a 93% on rotten tomatoes, audiences have high expectations for the prequel.
The Mothership series follows a group of vigilantes who go up against corrupt superheroes. The group finds that these superheroes often abuse their power resulting in dangerous consequences. Some notable cast members are Karl Urban (Star Trek) who plays Billy Butcher, Jack Quaid (The Hunger Games) who plays Hughie Campbell, Anthony Starr (Wish You Were Here) who plays Homelander, and Chase Crawford (Gossip Girl) who plays The Deep. The prequel series has shared some information on casting. Jensen Ackles (Supernatural) will star as Soldier Boy, following Aya Cash (The Wolf Of Wall Street) as Stormfront in Vought Rising. Mason Dye (Stranger Things) and Will Hochman (Blue Bloods) will be joining Posey in the cast but their characters have yet to be revealed.
Executive producer Paul Grellong (Law & Order: Special Victims Unit) and showrunner Eric Kripke (Supernatural) of the mothership series shared the plot with Deadline “a twisted murder mystery about the origins of Vought in the 1950s, the early exploits of Soldier Boy, and the diabolical maneuvers of a Supe known to fans as Stormfront, who was then going by the name Clara Vought.”
In the same article, Deadline shared that the franchise has gained more than 1 billion minutes in views for the U.S. The franchise in its entirety includes The Boys, The Boys Presents: Diabolical, Gen V, and the upcoming series The Boys: Mexico, and Vought Rising.
Some other faces we’ll see in the executive producer chair for the prequel are Seth Rogen (Superbad), Evan Goldberg (This Is The End), and James Weaver (Good Boys). Following production companies we’ll see are Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios. With Kripke Enterprises, Point Grey Pictures, and Original Film in association.
