Disney+ will stream all-new original TV shows that will be based on movies and characters within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. WandaVision is one of those series currently in the works starring Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany), both of whom we last saw meet a demise at the hands of Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War.
While attending the premiere for Avengers: Endgame on Monday, Elizabeth Olsen was able to chat more about her and Paul’s Marvel show.
“I think it’s gonna be a total of six hours,” Olsen admitted about the first season. “I don’t know what the [episode lengths] are.”
Olsen mentioned that production will begin sometime in the fall. The woman behind Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch couldn’t share anything else besides her enthusiasm for the show.
“There’s quite a few other comic books that we’re pulling from and it’s gonna be Wanda and the Vision and I think at the Disney+ launch chat, they showed a photo of us in the ’50s, and I think that’s a good teaser,” Olsen shared with Variety about the new series. “It’s gonna be really fun. I’m really excited.”
WandaVision will showcase the talents of Captain Marvel screenwriter Jac Schaeffer as he takes over as showrunner. At Disney’s investor presentation meeting, Marvel Studios President, Kevin Feige, took the stage to present new Marvel content for the Disney+ streaming service.
“We like to take big swings at Marvel Studios … this story is definitely something unexpected and surprising, as well as something we can only do in a long-form series,” said Kevin Feige. “Most exciting to us is that in addition to the films available on the platform, Marvel will be creating original series just for Disney+.”
Disney+ will also feature other Marvel shows such as Falcon & Winter Soldier, Loki, What If, and an untitled series centering around Hawkeye.
