According to Deadline, the star-studded fourth season of Mayor of Kingstown is set to introduce some exciting new faces, with Emmy-winning actress Edie Falco (The Sopranos, Nurse Jackie), BAFTA-winning actor Lennie James (The Walking Dead, Save Me) and Tony Award-winning performer Laura Benanti (Life & Beth, Gossip Girl) joining the cast. The drama stars Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye) and is co-created by Taylor Sheridan (Yellowstone) and Hugh Dillon (Flashpoint). The plot line follows the McLusky family, influential figures in Kingstown, Michigan, where the prison industry is the town’s main source of power. The showrunners include Dave Erickson (Fear the Walking Dead), Christoph Schrewe (Snowpiercer), Wendy Riss Gatsiounis (Reign), Evan Perazzo (George & Tammy) and Keith Cox (Hot in Cleveland).
Deadline reports Falco will appear as Nina Hobbs, the new warden of Anchor Bay prison, marking her as a series regular. Over the course of the season, James will bring to life Frank Moses, a legendary gangster whose influence stretches across Detroit and beyond. Meanwhile, Benanti joins as Cindy Stephens, a newly recruited correctional officer in Kingstown.
Falco made history as the first actress to win Emmys in both drama and comedy for The Sopranos and Nurse Jackie. She was recently seen in Avatar: The Way of Water and will soon star opposite Brian Cox (Succession) in The Parenting.
James is best known for his portrayal of Morgan Jones in The Walking Dead. Additionally, he headlined and executive produced the BBC series Mr. Loverman. He recently starred in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof in the West End alongside Daisy Edgar-Jones (Normal People, War of the Worlds, Cold Feet) and voiced Mufasa in Disney’s The Lion King.
Benanti is currently starring in Younger, which continues to gain popularity on Netflix. She has also appeared in arcs on The Gilded Age (HBO) and Elsbeth (CBS). Her solo comedy show, Laura Benanti: Nobody Cares, is now available on Audible.
