Announcement of her exit from the network was explained in an internal memo to her staff. She has served as president on E! for two years, Deadline further details.
Kolb, a ten-year veteran of the network, gained the president position during the network’s challenging period of looking for new projects to boost the long-running Keeping Up With The Kardashians. Other issues within the network include finding a replacement for the late-night slot vacated by Chelsea Lately and rebuilding popular segment Fashion Police following the sudden death of Joan Rivers.
The memo circulated by Kolb to her staff is shown below:
“One of my great privileges in life has been working with you for the past nine years. But as the adage goes, all good things must come to an end and so must my time at E!
I am so proud of what we have accomplished together. From pop culture defining hits, to best in class entertainment news, to the gold standard for red carpet coverage and the creation of a digital powerhouse, E! is the very definition of a triple (or quadruple) threat. I am also thrilled we just wrapped filming on The Royals as E!’s exciting foray into scripted. I know the future for E! shines bright and I look forward to cheering you on as you reach new heights.
I also know the true exclamation point in E! are the people. As cliche as that might sound, you are truly the greatest team. You push each other to excel, support each other in tough times, and never forget to laugh along the way. I am a better person for knowing you and a better executive for working with you.
I look forward to our paths crossing again soon.
All the best for the future.”
