Love her or hate her, Kylie Jenner, the Keeping Up With The Kardashians co-star is getting her own spin-off this summer, titled The Life Of Kylie. For some time now, E! has been interested in doing a reality series with the socialite turned fashion designer and model. Jenner said in a statement, that the show will give her fans “a peek inside all of the exciting things I am working on as well as some personal time with friends.”
According to TV Guide, the show will follow Jenner as she navigates friendship, love and her career endeavors, with her most recent undertaking, ‘Kylie Cosmetics’, to showing viewers her lesser-known achievements.
“Kylie’s beauty, business savvy and fashion icon status have made her one of the most famous and successful young woman on the planet,” said Jeff Olde, executive vice president of programming and development for E! “Kylie has achieved so much at such a young age and we know the E! audience will be thrilled now that she is ready to share an inside look at her everyday life,” TV Guide reports.
Apart from partnering with sister Kendall to design clothing under ‘Kendall + Kylie’, Jenner recently launched a campaign that lends a voice to victims of bullying, generating awareness and promoting peace and acceptance. She also supports the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and has become a brand ambassador for Smile-Train.
The public figure has been under media fire since drastically altering her appearance, never admitting to plastic surgeries. Alex Eichenstein, a writer for Elite Daily says that Jenner perpetuates unrealistic trends that only glamorizes narcissism. Adding that, “She continues to teach young girls that altering one’s natural looks is preferable to being healthy and confident in whatever it is that one chooses to wear.”
Agree to disagree, The Life Of Kylie is an inevitable addition to the Kardashian family ventures, making a debut this summer. The show will be a first of KUWTK spin-offs to feature just one Kardashian, other than Caitlin Jenner’s I Am Cait. Past spin-offs include Kourtney and Kim Take Miami, Kourtney and Kim Take New York, Khloe & Lamar, Kourtney and Khloe Take The Hamptons, Dash Dolls, and most recently, Rob & Chyna. A number of E! specials have also been broadcast throughout the years involving several family members.
According to Variety, “The Life Of Kylie” is produced by Bunim/Murray Productions and Ryan Seacrest Productions. Seacrest serves as the executive producer for Ryan Seacrest Productions, while Gil Goldschein, Jeff Jenkins, Farnaz Farjam and Andrea Metz serve as executive producers for Bunim/Murray. Kris Jenner is also an executive producer along with Kylie.”
