According to ScreenRant, ABC’s The Rookie will be adding another cast member to its ninth season. The new season will air on January sixth on ABC at 9 PM ET. The long-running ABC procedural is moving to a new nighttime slot to make way for The Rookie: North, a new spinoff headlined by Jay Ellis.
As per ScreenRant, Matt Webb Mitovich (Dead of Summer, The Next Food Network Star) answered a reader’s question for his Matt’s Inside Line newsletter, revealing that Dylan Conrique (My Life Stopped at 15, Chicken Girls: The Movie) will reprise her role as Tamara Collins in the new season. This will mark Tamara’s first appearance in The Rookie since season 7. Tamara is first introduced in the second season of The Rookie in the episode titled “In Justice.” This episode consisted of Lucy Chen, played by Melissa O’Neil (Dark Matter, A Simple Favor), looking for her stolen car and finding Tamara living in it.
According to ScreenRant, Tamara returned at the end of the eighth season of the series, which closes with the cliffhanger of Lucy and Tim Bradford being abducted. This is right after Tim proposed to Lucy, which is something that Tamara would have a big reaction to.
As per ScreenRant, The Rookie is an American police drama that follows John Nolan, a middle-aged man who decides to make a major life change by pursuing his lifelong dream of becoming a police officer after a life-changing incident.
