Dungeons & Dragons is looking to expand its universe beyond the upcoming film and recently announced series. Variety reports Hasbro’s Entertainment One is readying a free, ad-supported TV (FAST) channel dedicated to content based on the classic tabletop role-playing game. Dungeons and Dragons Adventures will feature original series and live gameplay from well-known content creators.
“This is an amazing opportunity to create and highlight exciting, engaging Dungeons & Dragons content, to both serve our wide audience of existing fans and welcome a new wave of fans to the community,” Dan Rawson, SVP of Dungeons & Dragons at Wizard of the Coast told Variety. “We look forward to bringing this channel to life and continuing to build out the thrilling D&D universe with even more content, partnerships and innovative formats.”
For the original fare, the channel will focus on unscripted series with celebrity personas attached. According to Variety, three series are in the works, each with a distinct spin on the D&D franchise. The first is a visual adaptation of the popular podcast Encounter Party. The show will follow the six podcast creators along with The Walking Dead‘s Khary Payton as they play an original D&D campaign.
The second pairs the fantasy of D&D with improv comedy. Faster, Purple Worm! Kill! Kill! will be hosted by series co-creator and actor Matthew Lillard (Five Nights at Freddy’s), via Variety. In each episode, a new party of celebrity guests will attempt to pit their first-level characters against a superbly overmatched enemy, comically ensuring their immediate demise.
The third series entitled Heroes’ Feast will feature culinary specialist Mike Haracz and actress Sujata Day (Definition Please) preparing meals for an array of guests. The recipes will come from the cookbook featuring meals from the D&D universe. Day announced the news on her Instagram profile.

Apart from these unscripted formats, Variety reports the channel will also feature live gameplay streams and third-party content from popular internet creators and gamers.
While there are no concrete distribution deals as of yet, Dungeons & Dragons Adventures plans to be available across multiple platforms sometime this summer, according to Variety.
