The true story crime series Dr. Death has been renewed, and images from the upcoming season have been revealed. According to a previous post from mxdwn, the second season will follow the “Miracle Man” storyline based on the recent third season of the podcast which features the deceitful tale of Paolo Macchiarini. We follow the journey of Benita Alexander, an investigation journalist, and his fiancée played by Mandy Moore (This is Us) as she delves into the mystery behind Dr. Macchiarini, a disgraced surgeon who was convicted of numerous murders played by Édgar Ramírez (Jungle Cruise).
The promo opens with a shot of Dr. Macchiarini exiting an elevator, bathed in light. The light suddenly flickers off, suggesting that his true nature is darker than it appears. Season Two of the show is set to be a more intimate and introspective story than the previous season. The season is sure to delve into the minds of all the characters, both heroes and villains.
In the previous mxdwn post stated, according to Deadline, directing duties for season two will be split among Jennifer Morrison (Euphoria, One of Us is Lying) and Laura Belsey (The Walking Dead, Shadow and Bone). Morrison will direct the first four episodes, while Belsey will take the latter half.
According to TVLine, the cast of season two will include Luke Kirby (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel), Ashley Madekwe (Salem, Revenge), and Gustaf Hammarsten. Additionally, Deadline stated in an early post, that Peacock has just added five new actors in recurring roles for the crime drama anthology series, Dr. Death. The series will add Rita Volk (Faking It, We Still Say Grace), Judy Reyes (Claws, Smile), Jack Davenport (the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, The Morning Show), Annika Boras (The Post, Succession), and Sandra Andreis (We Got This, Snabba Cash). The second season is shaping up to be filled surprising twists, and emotions.
