Season four of Downtown Abbey will air in the U.S. in January.
The fifth season of the show is on its way, even though the fourth season hasn’t yet aired in the U.S. “As American audiences ready themselves for the January 5th premiere of Season 4, our devoted Downton fans will rest easy knowing that a fifth season is on the way,” said Rebecca Eaton, the executive producer of Masterpiece.
According to TheWrap, the fourth season recently completed in the U.K., had 11.8 million average viewers, becoming Britain’s highest-rated television drama this year. As for the U.S., Downtown Abbey season three had more than 24 million viewers, becoming the most watched drama from PBS. “We’re proud to be the home of this extraordinarily entertaining series, and, along with our stations, we look forward to sharing Season 5 with U.S. audiences,” said Paula Kerger, the president and CEO of PBS.
Downtown Abbey will air on January 5 through Feb 23 on PBS.
