According to The Hollywood Reporter, some of the Downtown Abbey stars are lending their voices to Disney Junior’s animated series Doc McStuffins.
The Disney Network announced that as of today, October 10th, the voices of Joanne Froggatt (Anna Bates), Lesley Nicol (Mrs. Patmore), Matt Milne (Alfred Nugent), Nigel Harman (Mr. Green) and Robert Bathurst (Sir Anthony Strallan) will be featured in an episode of the children’s show. The episode which will feature these familiar voices is titled ‘Let the Nightingale Sing’, set to premiere Sunday, November 2nd at 8:30 a.m., The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
In ‘Let the Nightingale Sing’, the main character, Doc, along with his other toy fiends magically travel back into 19th century England. From here, they encounter a young Florence Nightingale, who will be sporting the voice of Frogatt. Florence Nightingale then realizes her dream of becoming a nurse, like her mother. By persuing this dream, she runs a clinic for her stuffed animal toys/friends out of her backyard playhouse. Lesley Nicol’s voice will accompany the character, Pip, a miniature porcelain doll; Milne, Bernard, a teddy bear; Harman, Doodle Doo, a tin rooster; and Bathurst, Admiral Fiddlesticks, a toy admiral.
Additionally, an original song will be featured in this episode, titled ‘Love what You Do’.
Tune in for the airing of the Downtown Abbey’s fifth season on January 4, 2015.
