

Apple TV+ has released the first trailer for its upcoming thriller Down Cemetery Road, which stars Academy Award winner Emma Thompson (Love Actually, Saving Mr. Banks) and Golden Globe winner Ruth Wilson (The Affair, His Dark Materials). As reported by Deadline, the series is based on the novel by Slow Horses author Mick Herron.
This story revolves around Sarah Trafford (Wilson), who is drawn into a mystery after a terrible house explosion shatters her peaceful Oxford neighborhood. In the aftermath of a missing kid, she seeks help from private investigator Zoë Boehm (Thompson). Together, they delve into a complicated plot full of government secrets and people long thought dead. Per Deadline, their search reveals dangerous truths that put both women in jeopardy.
“I think someone’s hiding something,” Sarah says in the trailer, before an explosion montage reveals the wrecked house. “Two bodies,” she says, “and a disappeared child.” Zoë warns: “You have found your way into the heart of something huge.” There’s a tremendous government cover-up.”According to Deadline, these exchanges highlight the suspenseful tone of the series.
Adeel Akhtar (Murdered by My Father), Nathan Stewart-Jarrett (Misfits), Tom Goodman-Hill (Humans), Darren Boyd (Spy), Tom Riley (Da Vinci’s Demons), Adam Godley (The Umbrella Academy), Sinead Matthews (The Power), Ken Nwosu (Killing Eve), Fehinti Balogun (I May Destroy You), and Aiysha Hart (We Are Lady Parts) round out the supporting cast. As highlighted by Deadline, the lineup combines familiar names with standout talent from British television.
Behind the scenes, the project reunites creatives from Slow Horses. Morwenna Banks wrote the adaptation and serves as executive producer alongside Jamie Laurenson (Slow Horses, The Essex Serpent), Hakan Kousetta (The End We Start From, The Velveteen Rabbit), Tom Nash (Industry, Rogue Agent), Thompson (Bridgerton, Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story), and Herron (Loki, Sex Education). Down Cemetery Road will launch globally on Apple TV+ with its first two episodes arriving on Wednesday, October 29, followed by weekly installments through December 10. As detailed by Deadline, the platform will use a staggered rollout to maintain momentum across the fall season.
