HBO Max welcomes back Doom Patrol for season 2 on HBO later this month. A new trailer was just released Wednesday according to Entertainment Weekly. The series surrounds a group of perceived outcasts holding superpowers that distance themselves from society and often leave them feeling alienated. The second season will be released Thursday, June 25.
The series was developed by Jeremy Carver (Being Human), and the trailer initially reintroduces the cast which resides in the Doom Manor in order to disconnect from the outside world. The main character Jane, played by Diane Guerrero (Jane the Virgin), is a woman with multiple personalities due to trauma she experienced as a child. Each of her distinct personalities holds their own superpower. Cyborg, played by Joivan Wade (Doctor Who), is a younger superhero who turned cybernetic following an accident leaving his scientist father to change him in order to save him. Negative Man, portrayed by Matthew Zuk (Greyhound), and voiced by Matt Bomer (All My Children), is a retired Air Force ace. His entire body was burned in an accident which gave him powers such as radioactivity and to explode objects. Elasti-Woman, played by April Bowlby (Two and a Half Men), was a actress in Hollywood whose career was cut short due to an accident involving toxic gas that gave her abnormal stretching ability. Finally, Robotman, played by Riley Shanahan (The Gender Card Flip), and voiced by Brendan Fraser (Encino Man), was a race-car driver who after an accident, his brain was sealed into a piece of mechanics via Entertainment Weekly.
Actress Abigail Shapiro appears in the super hero drama’s second season as Dorothy Spinner (Modern Love), the 11-year-old daughter of the Chief, portrayed by Timothy Dalton (The Living Daylights) according to TV Line. You can stream the first season of Doom Patrol on HBO Max.
