Donald Glover is making his way from Greendale to Atlanta.
The Community star is developing a music-themed comedy series for FX, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Tentatively titled Atlanta, the series will explore the music scene of the Georgia capitol. Glover, an Atlanta native as well as a musician, will use his first-hand knowledge of the community to write, executive produce and star in the half-hour comedy.
Earlier this summer, mxdwn reported that Glover would not be returning to NBC’s Community as a series regular. He will instead recur throughout only five of the season’s thirteen episodes. His role was reduced in an effort to focus on his music career and tour schedule as hip-hop artist Childish Gambino.
Glover’s other television credits include Adventure Time, Girls and 30 Rock. He can also be seen in the comedy “The To Do List”, currently in theaters.
