Dominic West has signed on to star in the drama series the Affair, the Hollywood Reporter announced Monday.
Set to air on Showtime, the Affair will follow two marriages in a story about commitment and infidelity. West will play a married teacher with children who meets a woman he believes is his soul mate. The series will chronicle the chaos that results from their relationship.
West, perhaps best known for his role on the Wire, joins fellow HBO alumni Sarah Treem and Hagai Levi, producers of the cable network’s In Treatment series. Treem and Levi will serve as executive producers on the Affair.
West previously starred in the Hour, a drama series that was cancelled earlier this year by the BBC. He earned a Golden Globe nomination for his work in the series.
