Disney+’s ‘The Simpsons’ Will Be Releasing A New Christmas Special In Its Upcoming Season

The Simpsons are set to release a new Christmas special, titled “O C’mon All Ye Faithful,” on December 17 because the series will be celebrating 35 years since it first aired, Comicbook.com reports. This announcement was made this past weekend, at the famous Disney convention, D23. The first Christmas episode was first aired on the same date in 1989, and it was titled “Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire.” At the moment, The Simpsons will be returning to Fox at the beginning of September.

According to Comicbook.com, the Christmas special will be a double-length episode. This means it will be over 90 minutes long, and as it premieres, it will be streaming exclusively on Disney+.

Other special episodes that will air on Disney+ exclusively from this upcoming season of The Simpsons include “The Past and the Furious” and “Yellow Planet.” At the moment, there is no release date set yet. According to Comicbook.com, the animated series will release additional specials, like the Halloween-themed one, in October. The previous 35th season will be available for fans to stream in Disney+ from October 2. If anyone is interested in catching up on the entirety of the series, including The Simpsons Movie, they are all available to stream on Disney+ now.

The Simpsons Season 36 is set to begin on the first week of September, precisely on Sunday, September 8. If anyone is interested on finding out more about the famous animated series, Comicbook.com has provided the official synopsis to read below:

“This beloved animated comedy tells the story of the Simpson family and the residents of the typical American town of Springfield. Homer Simpson works at the local nuclear plant, and does his best to lead his family, but often finds that they are leading him. Living with Homer at 742 Evergreen Terrace is loving, blue-haired matriarch Marge, troublemaking son Bart, overachieving daughter Lisa and pacifier-sucking baby Maggie.”

As stated beforehand, The Simpsons is now streaming up to season 34 on Disney+.
