According to Comicbook.com, Daredevil: Born Again will be released on Disney+ next year. This new series will continue the popular original Netflix series on a new platform, Disney+. It will portray the ongoing conflict between Daredevil, played by Charlie Cox (The Theory of Everything, Stardust), and Kingpin, played by Vincent D’Onofrio (Men in Black, Full Metal Jacket).
The one-take fight scenes, a distinctive feature of the original series, quickly became a hallmark of Daredevil’s television appearances. More specifically, the one-take fight scenes became a common and defining element in episodes featuring Cox’s Matt Murdock.According to Collider, Cox carefully explained during a Fan Expo Boston panel the Daredevil crew’s process to film these one-take fight scenes. He then hinted that fans who enjoy these one-takes will be pleased with the new series Born Again because it’ll feature similar impressive scenes.
Collider shares a quote from Cox about the filming process for Daredevil, “There’s different types of oners. A oner is a fight scene that takes place in one shot, without [cuts.] So there’s things called a true oner. So a true oner is when it really is one take and there’s no editing, there’s no cuts, there’s no morphing, which is when you move the camera past something that is a solid color, and then you can technically then cut during the black of that. So, if the camera moves past someone’s black shirt, there’s a moment during that where the whole screen is black, and you can then stitch a different take after that. So it looks like it’s a oner, but it’s actually not.”
On Daredevil: Born Again, audiences can expect original actors from the Netflix series to reprise their roles, including Jon Bernthal (The Walking Dead, Baby Driver) as The Punisher, Elden Henson (The Butterfly Effect, The Mighty Ducks) as Foggy Nelson and Deborah Ann Woll (Escape Room, True Blood) as Karen Page. Meanwhile, new cast members will include Michael Gandolfini (The Main Saints of Newark, Cherry), Lou Taylor Pucci (You, Physical) and Margarita Levieva (The Acolyte, The Deuce).
