Earlier today, Disney+ announced that the new short The Simpsons Meet the Bocellis in ‘Feliz Navidad’ will launch on the 15th of December. Fans can watch the short exclusively on the Disney+ platform.
In the upcoming short, Homer (Dan Castellaneta, Aladdin) surprises his wife Marge (Julie Kavner, Rhoda) with a personal performance from the Bocelli family: Italian opera star Andrea Bocelli, his son Matteo, and daughter Virginia.
The short features the trio’s new single Feliz Navidad, which will be released along with the rest of their album A Family Christmas on December 15th. A Family Christmas is Andrea, Matteo (25) , and Virginia’s (10) first album together, and will feature holiday classics as well as two original songs.
Andrea Bocelli is an Italian tenor and multi-instrumentalist who’s bestselling album is Romanza. Over 2,000,000 copies of Romanza have been sold worldwide. According to Universal Music Japan, Bocelli has sold over 80,000,000 records worldwide, 18,770,000 of which were sold in the United States.
Bocelli’s son Matteo, 25, is a rising talent that was featured on Andrea’s hit song Fall On Me.
The Simpsons Meet the Bocellis in ‘Feliz Navidad’ is the most recent The Simpsons short exclusively for Disney+. Prior shorts include When Billie Met Lisa, Welcome to the Club, The Good, the Bart, and the Loki, The Simpsons in Plusaversary, and Maggie Simpson in ‘The Force Awakens from its Nap’. Past shorts are available to watch on Disney+, as well as many more.
On December 17th, The Simpsons will celebrate 33 years since its first episode in 1989. As of today, The Simpsons has aired a whopping 738 episodes since its debut in December 1989. The series currently holds the claim to being the longest running sitcom in the United States. In addition, The Simpsons is also the longest running animated show on prime-time television.
